Allow me to introduce myself:
Kelli Foret
Acadiana Art Trail
Like a number of writers, Kelli rose the ranks in corporate America only to have it point out serious voids in her planned life. As an HR pro in high demand, she found hundreds of people like her, working without fulfillment, seeking better alignment with their creative, productive selves. She stared out of her office window into the dream of a creative career.
Then she jumped.
Her style can be called silly and that won’t bother her one bit. Foret lives in a whimsical world — one intentionally built, stroke by stroke. It’s a life constructed, hodgepodge at times, out of painting, sculpture, music, writing, travel and photography. Born and raised in New Iberia, Louisiana, Foret's influences are noticeably Cajun and deceptively deep. Her canvases, commonly made of sinker cypress (straight from the Atchafalaya Basin), reflect a range of primitive folk designs her international travels. Her photos make you smile. Her writing makes you fall in love with places you never heard of before. It’s a visual-story-mix fitting any gumbo girl.
